Would be PID LW2596.
I think it's NAD83/96 position is;
N 41-54-25.79335
W 71-21-18.99027
Searching NGS data sheets, even destroyed marks, returns nothing
In the old NAD27 days I used to have coordinate, lat/long, and description sheets from USC&GS. But not for Massachusetts.
If anybody could verify a position for this point (in any system) it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the nonpub sheet shows
41 54 25.7N 071 21 18.9W, which is a verification of sorts.
The problem is that it isn't just a good mark that got destroyed. The codes say NGS doesn't have good data for this mark.
I did note that going through their menu to get that PID into a list of stations to be fetched shows coordinates matching your values to the last digit, but I wouldn't trust them given that NGS doesn't. Trying to fetch that data sheet gets the nonpub message Jim mentioned.

The horizontal order shows as 4, which I'd never noticed before in looking up stations. Trying to fetch that data sheet gets the nonpub message Jim mentioned.
There's a value of 41 54 25.94N 71 21 20.68W from the June 1885 Report of the Superintendent, USC&GS, but that probably doesn't do you much good. 🙂
Yep. All information I know already.
The probable cause of the fourth order rating is its not based on USC&GS observations. They adopted and recalculated Bordens observations.
