Apparently SECO has stopped making the hang on door mounts for the 2016 F150 truck due to it being aluminum. Has anyone else found a suitable replacement for transporting your GPS upright??

There are several pics on this forum that members have fabricated themselves. You may be able to do a search and find some pictures.

I made a simple 5/8" adapter that was mounted in the channel of a roof bar.
Simply a 5/8" bolt in a small piece 6mm metal plate fitted inside the roof bar.
Can be quickly mounted left or right side.
I wrap duct tape around it, not antenna, just in case something shakes loose.
I never liked the idea of door mounts or anything that hangs outside the width of the vehicle.
Too easy to wipe out.
Low branches are the same with my mount.

Does it being offset from vehicle have a particular meaning, meet specific reason?
Or just convenience.
