It actually snapped a pic of me. That's me... the rotund guy in the light blue shirt talking to my across-the-street neighbor.

I followed the Google-mobile for about a 1/4 mile one day and and it got lots and lots of pics of me in the survey chariot. None of them very good though. Here's a shot of the chariot parked in front of my house/office. The Google-mobile went by my house once, I parked as it went on up the street, then it came around again and snapped the pic of me talking to my neighbor.
It took over a year for these to get posted.

An unknown crew with a really tall tripod and maybe an S6 in down town cape town.
Best one!the only way it could better would be standing on the gun case, taking a shot. 🙂
Google Street View caught me working!>PROOF!!
I was wondering why I couldn't find myself in the picture. We were down at the corner hunting up some control. Notice that I get the shovel part of the deal!

I was sitting in my Sienna waiting for my wife when the Google Bug drove past.

All these are pretty cool. I haven't noticed any street views of our crews (mostly b/c they are on/off gravel roads). But Google did catch one of our crews breaking for lunch earlier this year on one of my projects:

The crew was on the project at the end of Feb '13 and the gogle aerial showed up about May '13.
Pretty quick turn around for aerial photography.

And all the glory! B-)
As I always say; if you want the hole dug correctly, you should dig it yourself.
Or; we are not digging a hole, we are looking for evidence.
Google caught me working!
But not on the street view....dernit!
This was a Tuesday 5/21/2013 and the shadows look like about 12:30 PM. My motorsickle is sitting in the sun getting good and hot.

What I wanna know is why all three of our white pickups were at the office in the middle of a sunny workday? Only ONE crew is missing...they need a raise.;-)

Fast as fast can be, can't catch me!
Working in the center of nowhere, it is many miles to the nearest spot where they do street view. So, don't expect to find me in any of those views while working. It would be my luck to get in one of those views while exiting my vehicle that happens to be parked in front of a sleazy, topless bar or something similar while planning to enter the Toys "R Us across the street to get a new toy for the grandkid.
The current Google Earth image of my house must have been taken around November 1, 2012. The vehicle parked in the driveway hasn't been there since about November 10. In the field across the road, the soybeans have been harvested but the wheat has not yet been planted.
"Old School" Google Earth for HC
I found this on the internet the other evening. I was actually reading up on an old motorcycle that was manufactured, I believe, in Galesburg, KS., the Shaw.
Thought you might enjoy looking at it.

"Old School" Google Earth for HC
The date on that is roughly 1910 based on who did own land and who didn't own it yet.
As for the Shaw Motorcycle, that was just one of many products turned out by Stanley Shaw over his many years in business. Lawn mowers, small farm tractors, even a kit to convert a Model T into a tractor. There is a Shaw Club of fans from all over the world who have strong feelings for one or more of the products made in that little town, population less than 200 at the very most. Although Stanley lived to be 100, he sold the production plant to a little company from Selma, Alabama named Bush Hog about 1962. They continued production there into the 1980's when they were bought out by Allied Products. They moved products from other companies they had purchased to Galesburg including disks, front end loaders, chisels, etc. They have grown and grown and are now known as AGCO. They sold the Galesburg plant in the late 80's to a producer of industrial louvers. Production continued there until the recession hit.
I attended high school with a number of Stanley Shaw's relatives. One of them is currently mayor of Parsons, about 10 miles from his hometown.
Enjoy this link, pictures and all.

The closest I ever expect to being found in a Google Earth aerial shot will probably be reminescent of the old cartoon showing two pigeons sitting on a tree limb with a bald gent strolling by directly beneath their location. One pigeon says to the other as they look down on the shiny bald head: Bombs away!
That looks like Shank Painter Road in P-Town.
Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't admit I know that. 😉

Google Street View caught me working!>VH
Well you're correct V. Funny thing is that it happened to be Carnival day August 2011. Previously we would launch a boat in Dennis and scoot across the bay then tie up to my sailboat and have a party before the parade.
This year we decided to forgo the parade and skip it all together. And instead we worked up there and watched all the people walking to town for the parade. They were a sight!
