I use this program daily, Its a great tool for help in estimating projects, especially with the street level views.

With that said, is there a way to export images that are ortho recified. I would like to insert with coordinate integrity, instead of import, scaling, rotating etc.

Thanks.

I have had little luck using GE as a source of Orthos. But this article might help you along.

Civil3d has an import function for both the image and the surface that come in on state plane coords if you have that system correctly set up in C3D already...

Carlson has functions to bring in Google too. Just do a look up in the help menus.

I use the Civil3d import function almost every day to bring in background images and surface data. It's a handy tool for producing a quick sketch map or to help with research etc. The thing to keep in mind however is that Civil3d doesn't really rectify the image properly. As I understand it the program matches the center of the image to the correct location in CAD and applies a scale factor but it doesn't stretch the image to match properly at the edges. If I use the tool to import an image over a large area I sometimes find that the coordinates are off by several hundred meters.

Be careful with State Plane/geodetic applications with Google Earth. It is based on a SPHERICAL Earth model. Once you get away from the nadir of the image, accuracy will tank.

YMMV.
