Geoid 2012 is now out and I thought I would post links for the files for Topcon and TDS/Spectra Precision here. The Topcon file is just the .bin file from the NGS website so if any other software supports the use of .bin files, that should work for them, too. I had a hard time finding the files for Survey Pro, so hopefully this will save someone else the headache of searching. I made sure that the .ggf works in both TDS 4.7.1 and Spectra Prec. 5.1.1 versions of Survey Pro. You will need to exit and reopen Survey Pro before it will show Geoid 2012 as an option.

Disclaimer: I did not create these files and accept no blame if anything catches fire.:-P
What about just smoke damage if the collector does not burst into flames but only smoulders and melts?
That would be an expected bug, a patch will be released in a couple of weeks to address the issue.
Will GEOID12 work in survey pro 4.6? I've placed the files in geodata but can't figure out how to select when setting up the projection.
I do not think so. I think you will need 4.7 or 4.7.1
I'm running Survey Pro 4.6 on a TDS Ranger with Geoid12. I set it up last week the day the file was available. I had to create a new Coordinate System Database (*.csd) in Trimble Business Center and add the Geoid12 file to this new .csd file. Then copy this new .csd file into the DC. You will need to place this new .csd file in the DC under ...Program FilesSurvey Pro Save or Rename your old (current) .csd file as a backup.
You will also need to have the G12.ggf file under the DC directory Geodata. I do not know what default .csd file came with my DC, I bought 2 DC's from the Engineering Co. I worked for when they laid off the Survey Dept. On my TDS DC I have North America.csd, Americas.csd, US HPGN.csd, and the one I created/modified: current.csd. Yours may be different. If you need assistance, my e-mail is current under my profile. I am out in the field in the a.m. (Thursday), then out of town and unavailable Friday through Sunday.
Good Luck.
this file seems awful large... does it need to be modified for use in a specific area or state?
Can the ole Ranger500x run this entire file is what i am asking?
Shouldn't be a problem. While it is larger than typical geoid files, that is because it covers the entire Continental United States. None of Spectra Precision's tools have been updated to generate subgrid files yet. I found that file on Trimble's website. I have created large files in the past for customers who cover many states and I've never had a complaint of a slow down.
Thanks for posting this. I have been scouring the interweb for a GGF version of G12_US.
