The "car" is a Ford Edge. I know that because I just purchased two weeks ago. It is a little limited on room but for the majority of surveying tasks it would have enough capacity to handle the job.

That's exactly what I was thinking as far as our prices go. We used to do these types of surveys in our own plats where we had coordinates on all the pins. All we had to do is go out and reset missing pins, check existing conditions, monuments, etc.... That was many years ago and we still lost our butts for $300.

If I lived in their service area, I think it would be worth paying the $250 just to get them to come out and see what you get for the money, and watch them actually do the work.

If I find would find out that it's a bidding situation and I might be going against one of these "I'll beat anyone's quote by 10%" I'd drop my prices to almost nothing. I can stand a few loosers a month and stay in business. Just make sure I'd be honest with the owners about why their getting the survey so cheap. Don't want it getting around that everyone can get a survey so cheap.
Either they'd have to tell people they can't beat my price and end up sounding like a bunch of liars or they'd be losing money faster then normal. Maybe increase their prices or go out of business quicker.

What's even worse is THIS SITE supports the ad!!!! I do updates for $275, don't think I've done an actual survey for that cheap since the early 90's or even late 80's. I guess the new saying is money talks and professionalism walks...
