Good morning, I am looking to do some housekeeping on Leica devices, namely cleaning up memory.

?ÿ

What is a good way to do this?

I am thinking to back up the memory onto SD card, then delete older jobs, one by one, until the memory is improved. I am also thinking to have the controller defrag memory after that.

Moe,

I rarely store projects on the CS20 directly.?ÿ The SD card is much handier for downloading data and seems to run just as fast.

As for your current situation.?ÿ I would move all of you projects to the SD card and then move up all of your old projects to your computer.?ÿ Then from the settings menu you can then copy all of you critical files customization such as formats, working styles, coordinate systems, RTK profiles etc. to your SD card.?ÿ Once you have all of those files copied back to the SD card I would use Captivate to do a clean the system and internal memory.?ÿ Finally I would do a hardware/software reset from the shut down menu.?ÿ Once this is complete you can copy the customization files back tot the internal memory.?ÿ I try to do this every month or so.

I do not think there is a need to defrag the SSD in the CS20, or any computer for that matter, given the way they store data.
