I don't know anything about the above character, however, I think the only way to support flat earth, is with GPS..... Jus sayin'.... 🙂

But seriously, are there really professional surveyors out there promoting belief in a flat earth? Or, are these people posing as surveyors, claiming to be surveyors, but are frauds? Either way, it's a problem that most surveyors I know seem to be unaware of, meanwhile acceptance of this flatearth gibberish is growing with the help of guys like this one.

Well considering I am laying out houses on 40' x 80' lots all day long everything looks pretty flat to me. 😉

The Youtube page looks legit (as legit as someone who expounds the flat earth theory can be), with him behind a Trimble, but he isn't listed as licensed in Colorado (at least not under this name). Maybe a technician, misrepresenting himself as a PLS?

Stuff like this is insane. For anyone to believe the flat earth theory in this day and age is mind boggling. Globers? WTF? This is the real reason why we are all doomed.

Please, someone from Colorado confirm that this isn't really a land surveyor.

Half the people I would meet in the street like to come up and tell me about how they used to survey. I don't see his name on the roster of Licensed Land Surveyors, either. I first thought, "no big deal". But it would be good to check if he presents himself as a "Professional Land Surveyor" or at least as an expert in land surveying. That might be pushing the law.

There is no licenced surveyor with that name in Colorado.

I'm curious where he claims to be a professional land surveyor. I looked for a profile, but didn't find it. I didn't sit through the 20 minute video or the 10 minute one. Can someone direct me to where he makes his claims?

Every surveyor should know that the answer is YES ( and NO).
If you measure the Sun diameter from Earth the diameter does change due to the orbit of the Earth .
Perigee (nearest) of the Sun and Earth happens on 4 Jan 2017 and Apogee (farthest) of the Sun and
Earth happen on 3 July 2017. The semi-diameter of the Sun at Perigee is 16' 15.93" and at Apogee
the semi-diameter is 15' 43.90".

Now if you measure the Sun Diameter at a constant distance or take in consideration the orbit of the Earth
the Sun does not change in size.

You guys should listen to this. This is a really mind blowing interview. He goes into his land surveyor history and talks about using robots and GPS. He says that no one he talked to in his early surveying career knew the formula for calculating earth curvature, so it must not be real.

I'm pretty sure he is just a technician. I heard him say land surveyor, but not PLS. Most techs I know use land surveyor when describing themselves, and then, if asked, will go onto tell you they aren't licensed, so it is probably something like that. Bizarre.

By statute the earth IS flat in my state. Well, at least my dimensioning of it.

Here is the language of part of the statute:
12-25-205. Unlawful practice - penalties - enforcement
(1) It is unlawful for any individual to practice or offer to practice professional land surveying in Colorado without being licensed in accordance with the provisions of this part 2, or for any individual or entity to use or employ the words "land surveyor", "land surveying", or "professional land surveyor" or words of similar meaning or any modification or derivative except as authorized in this part 2.

I guess one could argue that he is "using or employing" the words, but everyone uses those words. He is offering himself as an expert to a certain extent, but don't we all. Kind of funny a guy working in the field for 32 years and not getting his license. I would think if I could pass the test I would want to be licensed and make a little better money.

He comes in the office one day and says "hey can anyone tell me the formula for the curvature of the earth" and no one could answer. Well there's your proof.

Before I was licensed, I called my self a land surveyor. Easier than having to explain I was a party chief or the like. If I needed to go into detail that's when I would clarify I wasn't a R.P.L.S. Seems like this guy being asked questions like an "expert" is pushing the limits. Only harm I see is him perpetuating to the 50+ views on his videos that he represents an entire community.

Maybe he should keep his tongue in his cheek. What I don't understand is if the earth is flat why does the sun change shape. Isn't it flat also?

In florida... everything in that state is flat except for the results of the plastic surgeons...

Prior to being licensed I was always very deliberate to say that worked in land surveying, NEVER that I was a surveyor. Semantics for some, but for me a title to be earned.
