Just a few weeks ago I started my outfit here in Vancouver, BC and this week I completed my first project! Nothing crazy, just a day worth of topography on a busy road intersection, but still took some time to set-up and get going.

I called my company 360 Land Surveying. I wonder if you could take a look at the website and share some feedback - what do you think?

Thanks a lot!

Congratulations on the business and the first project achievement!

Website looks really great. Is that Wordpress?

I did have one comment about the site. It seems to imply that you're a one-man shop. You and I both know there's nothing wrong with that, but prospective clients may get turned off at first glance.

My suggestion is to pluralize references to the company's staff. Eg., while the banner at the top left corner reads "360 Land Surveying Ltd. - British Columbia Land Surveyor", maybe "British Columbia Land Surveyors" would imply a collective, even if you're the only licensee. Actually, http://360surveys.ca/links.html has it plural.

"About Us" might have a category like "Key Staff" under which you'd be listed with a title like "Lead Surveyor" or some such.

My 2 mils.

Beautiful work.

I agree it looks great
the site navigates fast - and that is what you want
around here according my google report 40% of searches are from a mobile device
you might want to consider a css style sheet that will accommodate mobile phones / tablets etc
and the black background might be hard to read from a mobile devise in the sun light.

keep up the good work and congrats on starting your venture!

of course these comments are my opinion just like the surveys we do.
I hope they will be helpful

😀

Very nice webite.

The 'estimate' hyperlink wasn't working for me on the home page.

I would like to see more photos but I see that your FB page has some nice nice ones.
Good marketing to add the 360 to your firm's name. I think that places your firm at the top of lists that are done by others for marketing/advertisements etc. in print and on-line Better than AAA Land Surveying..
Good luck to you and your endeavors.

Thank you very much for the comments!

Andy, I changed it to plural. That's how I had it originally, but then I changed it to sound more truthful and not to overstate my capabilities...not sure if it's relevant.

Eyott, I was thinking about mobile version, but my skills in html and css don't allow it yet 🙂

Robert, link is fixed - thanks a lot! In the future I'll put some sort of "Gallery" page, which will have a bit more photos and maybe even examples of plans.

Again, thanks a lot for taking a peak and commenting!

Looks good! In my very quick look at the site, I noticed that on the services page, "construction" is missing an "s" in the header "Engineering / Construction Surveys."

Good luck to you!

Congratulations and best wishes. The website looks good.

In Minnesota there has been a modest increase in the local demand for surveyors, as many have been drawn away to work on petroleum projects in North Dakota. Perhaps the same thing is happening in BC due to the large amount of survey work in Alberta, which would be a favorable circumstance for you.

Congratulations. May your income exceed your ability to spend it.

I had to search hard to find anything to nit pick about on your website. Finally find one minor flaw. In the following sentence, change "allows" to "allow".

"Our equipment and procedures allows us to achieve cost and time effective results."
