Attached is a FIRMette with a red box showing where I am doing an elevation certificate.
What would you say the BFE is in the street in front of the house. How would you interpolate the BFEs on this FIRMette?

It looks like there should be a flood profile on that stream. You will have to download the FIS study from the FEMA website.
You will have to interpolate the elevation of the stream at a point perpendicular from your lot to the stream. That should be the flood elevation for your lot.
I could be wrong, but I believe that is how you are supposed to do it.
Good luck,
Jimmy
Draw a line perpendicular to the profile baseline (parallel to Lettered Section 'E'). Scale along said profile baseline from your line to said Lettered Section 'E'. Using the FIS PROFILE, interpolate and scale your BFE.

Confirm with your local Floodplain Administrator.
Isn't the BFE stated in the legend some place for zone AE?
The best advice is to contact the flood plain administrator.
I agree with Dan. Should be just above cross section E.
I would make a wild guess like 38.8 and then call the floodplain administrator and see if they agree. Around here most of the FPA's will make a determination and that's what you put on the cert. Best to get it writing.
You are in Zone X, which is a non flood hazard zone, hence no need for a BFE.

Dan,
According to his plot part of the lot is in zone AE so he will have to deal with it in some fashion.

Yep, it appears a portion is in Zone X and a portion is in AE. Is the structure located entirely woth in Zone X?
That is what it looks like to me, house is in Zone X, street is in Zone AE.
