The recent update added distance/distance intersection and a pretty functional area calculation menu.?ÿ Those were a couple of things really needed.
If you use the Android version and haven't updated yet, get it.
?ÿ
I'm still just playing around with it.?ÿ But, if I were in a NRTK all the time environment it would really be a something to consider.?ÿ A rover and an android phone is about as streamlined as I could imagine.
I'm curious what other commonly used features are still missing? I use distance distance intersection all the time and can't imagine not having that.?ÿ
I tried one of the very first releases of this years ago on our sokkia gnss. It seems like a promising software. The regular windows version is a very user friendly software compared to Trimble Access which I'm permanently stuck with now.?ÿ
A more user friendly Localization

how did you know there was an update? Still too slow and too many libraries to load.?ÿ They have made many improvements in the past year to make it usable in the field.?ÿ Hope they include some native code and better programming in future releases.
They fix/add one thing and break others.?ÿ They need a baseline with their instruments to check against before releasing software updates.?ÿ Latest release fixed some stuff on one GNSS receiver and reduced the functionality on another.?ÿ?ÿ
@350rocketmike Distance/Distance was one I noticed very soon after getting it.?ÿ I still use robotic TS and Topcon data collector a vast majority of the work I do.?ÿ So, I don't always remember the small items I miss when I use the Fieldgenuis software, but there have been a few functions.?ÿ Not a huge list, but just a few items (some of which may be in there and I just haven't found them yet).
how did you know there was an update?
I received a generic email "What's new in fieldgenuis for android 2.2?"
I haven't experienced the fix one thing broke another, but I only use it with one network receiver.
Can you draw lines manually on the map screen and toggle them on and off as you shoot things like the old fieldgenius? This is something I never understood why none of the other softwares have it. So much easier to do it that way than using codes like with Trimble etc.
Also our DXF's only seem to work in access half the time so I end up using key in line to draw just enough to see where I am on the screen, but it's a lot of button pressed compared to fieldgenius.?ÿ
@350rocketmike I'll try it out later when I can get back into my office and report back.?ÿ This weekend is my town's big fall fair, "Hamfest".?ÿ They're doing set up today and tomorrow morning then starting tomorrow afternoon.?ÿ My office is right on the corner of the main intersection for all the activity, so I'll probably not be back in until Monday!
The nature of and how I do work hasn't required the drawing of lines so I've not tried.?ÿ I think I remember a video on their website showing doing that in the Android version though.
@350rocketmike I could draw a line pretty easily, but I did not find a way to turn them off.?ÿ The off function might be in there, I just haven't used the software enough to know.
I imported a dxf and it seems to have come in completely, even populated the points list with the new points from the dxf line work.
