Home screen is displayed but unable to do anything. Handheld was stored for a while, turned it on and home screen appeared but not able to do anything, like screen is frozen. Only thing I can do is restart it by holding the power button for like 15 seconds. I removed the batter but didn't help

Did you try removing screen protector?

I can't get to my power menu, pressing power does nothing, pressing power for 3 seconds does noting, pressing power for like 20 to 30 seconds will restart the unit. That's it, it always restarts with the same screen.

What I mean is the plastic screen protector most put on the screen to protect it from damage.

I've seen them so worn it would interfere with everything, so that most would think the collector is locked, while in reality it's just trying to react to what it thinks are multiple screen presses.

The screen protector is in good condition, I even cleaned out the space between the screen and where the plastic edge starts. I was thinking the same thing that the there was something pressing on the screen. But no, didn't help. Ill get my company to send it out to a technician, I always had issues with it freezing anyways. I'll probably switch to Leica, I haven't been a big fan of Topcon/Sokkia anyways.

Why not call the local dealer and have them take a look at it?
