Have a surveyor working here that used to work at a different company.
Like everyone he had a box of prestamped caps at the old place.
We retraced a subdivision and found a number of his caps in it. So I'm showing him and he says he didn't work on that project. We keep coming across his caps for the other company; he was long gone?ÿaccording to?ÿthe dates of the surveys.
Yesterday found?ÿa couple more of them, one is .5' into a well monumented state ROW. I told him and could see him tense up. Hehe, it's too much fun.......
It's lots of fun finding them just for the teasing. If there is a controversial corner, just set #xxxx. Might as well, everyone?ÿelse does.?ÿ??ÿ
?ÿ
What's his number? I could use a few up here....

hehe, you should have seen his face when I told him, it's priceless each time ??ÿ

A partner of mine died several years ago. I asked the cemetery if I could dump his caps in his grave at the funeral. They said no. I still have the box of them around here somewhere.?ÿ
I've been hunting somebody that has been setting caps with my name and number on them.
Am sure I've talked to people that know, they keeping their mouth shut and don't answer my calls anymore.

You need mandatory recording laws.?ÿ It's pretty hard to blame somebody else for placing a corner with a record showing who filed and when.

They are recorded, it makes it all that much more fun!!!!
At the next conference- he needs to start sitting RIGHT behind those people and in an Arnold Horshak-esk manner, ask the presenter some questions like?ÿ "?ÿIsn't easier to just use someone else's cap?"

That would be fun, and I would enjoy the heck out of doing it, but as you might guess that firm is long gone and the LS passed a while back, hence my guys plight.?ÿ
When I was working in the field. I would tease my PM RPLS that I was setting corners, through his business card, in random places so he should expect a few phone calls. Those were the good ol days.
