I have bought an item from ebay that has as an extra part that electronic circuit has, does anynone know what it is or what used for. I susspect that is a gps circuit or something similar

It certainly looks like some sort of RF board, and if it's Ashtech-branded it's probably GPS, but I think you'll have to find someone really, really familiar with GPS guts to be able to identify it from those photos alone.

I see an antenna connection looks like one that would work for a gps.

I also see a DSP chip on the motherboard.

Maybe put up a higher resolution photo and we can look into what the main chips are...

Chasing the reference number on the Ashtech chip leads to a firmware download for a Magellan GG24 gps product

Chasing that number I found a http://ntuio.oc.ntu.edu.tw/ocean2012/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Ashtech-GG24-RM-rev-E.pdf&apos ;">manual here.

Going by the pictures on page 8 it looks to be pretty similar

ëª took some fotos with my camera previous was from my phone. Jim.cox you are right it is an oem board similar Magellan GG24 gps, I will contact to the local dealer to find more info but it is closed until friday. If someone else know something please answer to us.
