Hi guys!

What's the best survey echosounder as far as your experience can tell?

Thank you.

Regards.

There are China products out there but I am quite apprehensive with its reliability so to speak.

Thank you.

I assume you're looking for something for small scale hydrographic surveys.

I've used this unit with stunning success...

http://www.seafloorsystems.com/hydrolite_tm.html

It's very easy to use and quite user friendly.

Give 'me a call and tell 'me I sent you.

Ralph,

Check out the "Store" from the link Ian Posted. Looks like the complete set-up (with what I think it a sub-meter DGPS and data collector) is $9995. Then they have the components listed separate if you already have a GPS and suitable DC.

I use one between 15 to 30 days a year have tried many different systems. The one in the link below does the best job for me. A company 30 miles away rents it for just over $200/day

Pseudo beat me to it.

If you want to chat with someone about the HydroLite unit, call John Tamplin at HydroLite. his number is 916-933-8085. John is a good guy and very knowledgeable. Let him know I gave you his number.

Knudsen Engineering is a good brand too.

Odom appears to be reliable against water damage. Contractor's surveyors sank their boat twice one summer (a few years ago). once dried up, the odom worked again after both instances.

Hydrolite/Sonarmite...

Works great....ties in with Trimble controllers wonderfully...just like biscuits and gravy.

Hydrolite is a great product. We use ours about 20-30 days a year.
