I had to post.?ÿ Dogs sensitivity to magnetic fluctuations has been studied and in this study shown significant in their capacity to align themselves along magnetic field lines while pooping, urinating.

Results: Dogs preferred to excrete with the body being aligned along the Northƒ??South axis under calm MF?ÿ conditions. This directional behavior was abolished under unstable MF. The best predictor of the behavioral switch was the rate of change in declination, i.e., polar orientation of the MF.

Yes, I calibrate my compass to our rat terrier. Her name is OCD.

We call her OC for short.

My plats for many years read:

Basis of Bearings, OCD, @ 10:00 am BM.

Then I got gps. It's hard to calibrate one of those to a rat terrier. I shoulda got a weiner dog, also called a dashund. If I installed sights at each end.....

Now I think I understand how some basis of Bearings are c r a p.

It comes from using a short dog, with bad sights.

I hope everyone is not smelling these basis of Bearings.

In fact, some bearings stink. Now I know why.

If you retrace a Doberman basis of Bearings, with a sheepdog, I can see a 1 to 3 degree of wobble.

Wendell may have to spray "garden bouquet",?ÿ I hope he does not bill me for it. In fact, the bill should go to the OP.

Ole GIS Joel, may not get "in the field" enough to fully comprehend what a can O' turds he has inadvertently opened, but if Wendell bills him....

😉 happy New Year!

Nate

PS, Maybe Wendell could "capture the essences" with another YOUR OTHER LEFT....

?ÿ

Did you know; those big container ships need to run the bow and stern at different speeds, when docking, because of the rotation of the earth?

Did you know Alaska Airport runway reciprocal numbers have to be updated every 15 years to account for shifts in magnetic azimuth (headings).

Dogs bark at me too much and I have to show them to not follow me around at work. All it takes is ignoring them and keep doing what I do.

I got to decide which ones will attack and keep watch.

Dog come thru door window in a lifted F150 4WD and ate my son's Pittsburg Hot Links. Client gave my son a fresh cooked sack of them and bonded over that.

There are too many pets, livestock and critters around here to bring any more into mix.

Got 2wk old Red Healer pups, may deliver, lol.

I grew up with dogs and like all animals they lived outside and were never allowed in the house. Boy how things have changed, nevertheless I don't have a problem with dogs so long as they are someone else's problem. I would never consider carrying one along for a survey job.
