Seems like he's done a great job building a moat; now for the castle...
It looks like it's working for now. As long as he keeps diesel in the sump pump and the dike holds..he might keep the house dry.
Trouble is...when the river goes back down, all that bottom around him is going to have 2 or 3 feet of silt on it; making his little island the lowest place around. My bet is if the dike holds, he's going to have to leave it up..and keep sumping when it rains.
Two questions come to mind:
1. How much machinery did he have working for how long to build that?
2. How does he avoid being arrested or shot by every law enforcement and national guard person with orders to keep people out of the evacuation area?
I want to see his signed permit to construct that levee.
Well it clearly is working. And I say good for him. No Permit should be required.
