Typical lot corner today was down 18 inches in an area that was not subject to fill for any reason. The next one was about six inches deep. The one in the other direction was only down about one inch. I possibly knew everyone who was working on the crew that set these bars. There is no way they intentionally set that one so deep.

More likely landscaping changes.
It wasn't driven plumb, so it was driven deeper to make the top closer to the correct coordinates 😉
