Well, there are LAND SURVEYS.

And Mortgage Surveys. (not really surveys)

Surveys to see what TV you watch.

Boat Surveys, to determine what it has/needs etc.

And, now we have campers and R/V's called SURVEYOR.

What kind of surveys do you know about?

N

Wasn't Surveyor someone's legal last name?

I've measured heavy equipment on a low-boy for height. I've shot base bolts at the plywood mill for level..bridge shift monitoring..

I even ran a level loop up a stairwell (10 stories) to mark a chalk line on the men's room wall for making sure the urinals were installed "per Elevation Detail M-103..."

you name it..I bet we've all measured something..

oh, and set 'astronomical north' for the placement of a 2 ton bronze sundial at one of the local universities.

"Have gun, will travel."

PS - One of the crew members answered an ad in the Help Wanted section for "Surveyors"...

they wanted people to stand around in the mall with a clipboard and ask people questions.

you bloke sure take your peeing seriously.

No wonder average Joe Blow can't work us out.
'ran a level loop up a stairwell'. 😉
They reckon we are a weird bunch. Our phrases don't help.

Wonder if anyone has done a survey on these things?
