I am having problems creating a .dat file from Trimble Geomatics Office to bring into StarNet to run least squares. The dat file created does not contain and data in it - any help/suggestions?

I don't do Star*Net, but in TGO, I've have exported many things. Select that which you want, then do the export, otherwise, nothing comes out. If you're selecting vectors over points, then you'll have to select via GPS instead of points, i.e. the GPS tab, then the types of OCP, topo, fixed, etc. They should change color on the screen. Don't click anything else, then Export data to a custom file (star*net).

Should work.

My experience with the TGO-Star*Net interface is limited to GPS vectors. The process is to export the vectors in Trimble Data Exchange Format, then import them into Star*Net as Trimble Geomatics Office format.

I second what Jim Said.

I can only speak in view of my experience using the Leica GeoOffice. I believe that the methodology is exactly same.

To begin with, let us understand that Star*Net .dat file is a text file with specific format/structre. This means that like Leica GeoOffice, you can only achieve the desired .DAT format by customizing your TGO to output data via formatting.

You can also achieve the .DAT file using Star*Net Converters.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

If it is GPS Vectors you are trying to import it is just as Jim and Jered say.

If you have terrestrial data in a .dc file you need the StarNet data converter, as amdomag suggests.
