I have a license for my radios that needs to be modified to show I am narrow band compliant. The company I worked with to get my radio license wants to charge $260 to modify my license. Has anybody found a better deal? Where? Many thanks!
Do it on line yourself for about $60. I did ours, and it was easy except for coming up with the "emmsion designator". Do a search using my name and you will find a recent post about it.
Like David said the cheap way is in-house.
If I was doing them for other users I'd charge at least $260. So it depends what it's worth to you. Spend that amount and save the time that it takes to learn how or spend the time. I would say it's a toss-up. If I just had to do it once, I'd maybe spend the $260.
Thanks for your input!
Usually I agree with that logic but only $60 of it is going to the FCC. Since I already have a license this feels a gouge price. Thanks for your input on this subject.
What, you mean to tell me to update this survey you did last year, you want me to pay another $260 and only $60 of it goes to the County Recording office?
Just pointing out the irony of your question, BUT if your time is worth less than $200, then by all means do it yourself.

Yeah, I spent quite a bit of time figuring out all the info for our GPS radio license. I had our secretary up date the license for our hand held two way radios today, it just took a few minutes, but only because we had just done one.
I can get by just fine without your help, richard.
