for being named the Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors 2014 Surveyor of the Year! He is also the current President of the Association.
I have met StLSurveyor, Jon Payne, and Dave Ingram this week, among a host of other really, really great people.
Thank you to Jon Payne, Tom Clayborn, Don Pedigo, and Ms. Molly Forrest, and the entire KAPS Association for their hospitality. I have had a great time, attended some outstanding classes, and made some new friends.
Yes, congrats to Jon. I was not able to stay around to see the presentation because I had to leave there to find my way to WV to teach a class here today. KY always has a great meeting.
I did a couple of classes at KY that were well received, the students had fun playing with compasses and chains in one, and I enjoyed teaching the classes when the students are so receptive.
Yes, big Congrats to John and everyone who put on such a great conference. I enjoyed it very much and met lots of good folks. Dave your class was great and I had such a good time with the compass and chain traverse - thanks again.
Ryan
Hope you got a sense of humor, John.
The titles of this thread and previous when read back to back sure have a ring to it (...) 😉
That qualifies as an astute observation.

Thanks Jimmy.
It was really great to meet you.
I agree with you there were some outstanding classes offered this year again. I hope you can make it to the next one as well.
As I said in my little speech on receiving the award, there are many people in the KAPS organization that do much more for the organization than I do and they would be much more deserving of the honor.
Thanks Dave.
It was great having you at the conference. I really enjoyed your class and took away some great information from your presentation. I heard many positive responses on both of your classes.
Thanks for presenting at the KAPS conference.
Jon
Thanks Ryan.
That application phase in the afternoon really drove home how time consuming survey calculations were in that time frame. My group came up with 1.31 acres as the traverse. If I recall correctly, that isn't too far from the answer.
However, we did not even have time to begin calculations on the remote point.
I had to re-order the posts by date to see what you meant.
I've received the other honor on more than one occasion. Unfortunately it doesn't usually come with a neat little surveyor statue to put on display in the office.
Woops, sorry Jon.
