Anybody have a long term client that seems to morph into a bad relationship you can't shake??
I rarely have trouble collecting my fee, even if a project falls through, but lately I have this one person that gives me crappy last minute projects and when they fall through claims to somehow not be the responsible party. So, for her, I will have to change my approach and ensure billing is upfront. A tough lesson to learn, but it's the way I've handled all recent requests. I "thought" I had a good relationship, but been burned for the last time by this person. reminds me of high school dating!!

I would not do any work for that company until every last cent owed was paid with interest. Standard policy with zero tolerance for exceptions.
Signed written contract with half up front, before you start doing anything. The balance paid upon delivery or on-site at completion of staking.
The up-front money usually makes it real for them.
anything that reminds you of high school dating can't be a good situation.:-|
Right!! it's only one person out of a firm of about 6... seems everything she sends my way is a time bomb. So, it's tough to enforce different rules for her, but that's the way it will be.
Did you date her in High school? :-O
As long as she knows you will work for free, she'll give you lots of work.......
Ha!! No, but on a related note, my high school girlfriend and her husband just bought a lot on Sanibel. I did their survey, had no idea who it was until their check came. We met up for drinks last time they were in town.
