My Carlson Surveyor+ with SurvCE is not turning on. It turned on yesterday, because I dumped a whole job full of ASCII points in there, but today it is not.

I plugged in the recharging cord and at first the light at the 11 o'clock position above the toggle wheel blinked red. After awhile the same light just burns a steady read (no blinking) but does nothing else. The unit will not turn on at all, even while plugged in.

Is there a hard reset button somewhere, or something that I can test? I have a call into Hayes (where I purchased it), but they have not called back. Any help is wholly appreciated.

Carl

Have you tried rebooting it? Hold down the power button for 10 seconds.

Actually, just held it for like 15 seconds out of frustration and the yellow light came on.

That's weird.

Thanks for the mojo, I guess.

I've never had a problem with mine, but I've only had it a few months. I actually like it a lot. It's a nice collector, but I wish the long range Bluetooth was built in instead of that stupid thing that sticks out of the USB port. Supposedly the new model has that feature along with a camera.

Mine's a little over 5 years old. I don't baby it, but I don't bang it around on purpose either. I had to rent a bluetooth from Deaton's Geo-tronics while Hayes was repairing my BanTams (don't ask) and I got pretty good distance from the DC to the Robot without much effort. It seemed to lose lock when I put the pole in the vehicle occasionally, but it would usually come back pretty quick. I got out over 600' in the clear doing that, and that's about all I was comfortable with. I don't like to be that far away from the robot.

Carl
