I'll be heading over to USA for a bit of a holiday/walk next year (plan to hike the PCT) and I thought it would be cool to find some Survey Control Points on my way past. Ones at significant points (tops of mountains) should be easy to find, but it would be nice to have the data for those as well for the little trip log I'll probably be writing.

Is there any particular App (for Android) that anyone uses and finds good? I found these 2, with the former looking a little better (hard to test from Australia...)

I looked at the NGS Data Explorer page (noaa.gov) but I was hoping more for an "Use my phone GPS to find all marks within 1mi of me" type of app

I use Benchmap and really enjoy it. One problem you may not have thought about is the fact that in the majority of the PCT you will not be receiving a phone signal. Your best bet is to download the NGS points by state, use one of the free bench mark programs to create a GPX file or POI file and load up a geocaching Garmin. That way you have the search capabilities and the full data sheets loaded with no cell coverage needed.
