Have you discussed ownership transition with him yet?
Becoming a LLS Unsolicited advice
I will and i am, not doing anything mean, just maybe teaching him a lesson on what happens when you treat your only 2 employees you had for the past 10 years like crap! But then again, the way he treats us, it probably wont bother him at all.

Yeah, did about 6 years ago. Thats as far as it went
Ask him straight up what his hesitation is. Ask him if he thinks that you are lacking in some critical knowledge or ability, and if so, how does he suggest you remedy it.
Insist on honest answers, but also be prepared that you might hear some that you don't like.
Once you have those answers, you will have a better idea which way you need to go.

I have, his answer is that he is really busy at that moment and pretty much to busy to help me. He ask me if i'm ready to be a LLS and/or if i think that i'm ready. no constructive criticism at all. At this point i know what way i need to go, and that's out.:-/
It sounds like you've given the boss every opportunity to allow you to advance in the profession. I think you are right, it's time to move on to a position where they will either recognize you are ready, or help on the way to getting ready. Life is too short to work for someone who is trying to hold you back. I don't think you'll ever regret leaving.

Sorry it had to come to leaving, and changing career paths. Im sure there are some other salty dogs out there such as your previous employer but hopefully not too many. Thats bad for the industry and future. Good luck in your new career choice and hopefully you can still keep some passion for surveying.
That is unfortunate. Good luck in the new field, people always need septic systems. Are you a permitted designer? If not I recommend it, that test is not particularly difficult.
