And, we use data collectors. We want BIGGER screens, and BIGGER text, and numbers on the screen!

BIGGER TEXT.

BIGGER SCREENS.

BIGGER TEXT

BIGGER SCREENS.

Chant it with me.....

My biggest gripe is small print on medicine bottles. You'd think the print might get BIGGER for us old goats (that left our bifocals in front of the computer)...but NOOOO...

I've got a large magnifying glass in every room in the house.

Put your glasses on and quit whining.

quit your whining and out your glasses on.

For a couple of years I've had to use reading glasses. I used to keep them on a leash around my neck so I could slip them on and off easily. Well they also broke easily, but at $2-3 a pair, or $5.99 for a 3 pack of google glasses (not the computer ones of course) I didn't really care except when I broke them and then needed them!

We, SWMBO and I, were at the Boston Boat Show last year when she spotted a booth selling "Click-its," the glasses that are held together by a strong magnet on the nose piece. You can break them apart and they will hang in separate pieces on your neck and you just "click it" together when needed.

Well here I am, almost a year later and I am still using that same pair I bought at the boat show. I hate the darn things because now I have to use two hands to put on and off, and you can imagine what a pain that is running the gun, BUT I haven't broken them. They hand much higher on your neck so they aren't so susceptible to breaking when you catch something on your chest.

I have a yellow tinted pair of 2X for office computer work but my reading glasses are 2.5X. But my distant vision tested at 20/15 last year at my last visit. I fell pretty lucky for having great eyesight, I just wish I didn't need them for reading. At least I didn't need them until 50!

I have not been able to see very far past my nose since age 9 with out the aid of spectacles or contacts.

It is really hard to find my glasses anymore unless they are exactly where I remember leaving them.

Running an instrument was never a problem because they are fully capable of focusing perfectly for most any vision.

Opted for lens replacement and am half way turu that with right eye a month ago and left eye scheduled next week.

Never heard of an eye pushup until then and they are not so easy at first.

So far it is amazing and am beginning to be able to read the computer screen and am back on cad already.

I did notice that my last lot job was at 1"=20' and on ledger paper instead of my prior legal size drawing 😉

Or...raise your rates, hire a young whippersnapper, and pass on your experience.

I have just gotten into the habit of wearing safety glasses that have the little cheater bi-focal on the bottom.

"The chant is failing."

LASIK, LASIK, LASIK......

Had "monovision" lasikally applied 12 years ago. Can see up close with one eyeball and distance with the other eyeball. Brain (or the remainder thereof) adjusts instantly to this anomoly, thus near perfect vision sans glasses! B-)

Had the monovision done also. Fantastic. No glasses of any kind required anymore. Been about 10 years now and my vision seems to keep improving somehow.

Amen to that. I just got my refills from the VA. They are now sending my meds without safety caps and the med names are large print...
On other notes, I had new glasses made a few weeks ago. The eye doc said put them on in the morning and see what happens. All was well until I got to the office and sat down. I could not read. At all.
It seems the tech noticed my old glasses were cut a little low. He took it on his own to 'fix' the problem, rendering me functionally blind at short distances. New glasses should be ready in a few days...

Or use a 8" Windows Tablet.
It's incredible and it only cost $200.
