I've used an external camera with a TSC2 and Trimble Access using the Eye-Fi that Trimble sold at the time (this was a few years back, before the TSC3 was available). It worked fine as long as you had a compatible camera, and yes you can make photo attributes. Since the TSC3 has an internal 5MP camera I've never tried interfacing an external to it.
