I am looking for the rubber duck antenna, 450-470 mhz with TNC connector, for a Trimble SPS 881 or R8. Does anyone know of an online source or an aftermarket source for these?

Thanks,
James

try Radio Shack. I'm pretty sure I replaced one off my 5800, should be the same as R8.

You might try Tessco. I got an exact match on a Topcon Hiper+ from them, and it was very reasonably priced.

TC,
I looked at the Tessco site but no luck. They had the BNC and several that I'm not familiar with but no TNC.

Doogle,
The local Radio Shack here is not much more than a stereo/cell phone store. BUT, since I need a speaker for my truck, I might as well check to see if they have an antenna while I'm there.

Thanks,
James

Google search. Would one of those wifi antenna's from Amazon for $8 work?

Try Pacific Crest

or here
http://www.martininstrument.com/antenex-gps-rubber-duck-antenna

Practically any antenna that covers the correct frequency range and has the correct connector should work. There are some on ebay. Search "antenna tnc 450mhz"

If your instrument blows up though, don't blame me. 🙂

Thanks Tyler,

Thats the one I am looking for.

Just to be clear, it's not about the money or beating Trimble out of a sale. I'm trying to avoid calling my sales rep and he is out on the road. So he calls me back later and will send a quote when he gets a chance to get on the computer (tomorrow at the earliest). Then I email him back saying that's what I want. Then he emails me back and on and on and on. They don't have a number that I can just call and order a part, give a credit card number and be done with it. Right now it's two days and I'm still waiting on the first email. Sorry for the rant.

Thanks,
James

Thanks Tyler,

I've ordered from Martin Instruments before, they are great and carry a lot of common parts.
