I am doing a job by Miami and need to get some marking paint. Not the Home Depot crap but some good stuff that will last. Need something other than orange that everyone and their brother uses. Anyone local know a supply ship where I can pick some up?

There's way more than one Miami. And some people don't know how to pronounce it correctly.

Sorry. I know there are several but without specifying I figured people would assume the big one. Florida.

I have been through Miami Oklahoma before but it is what 10k people? I would assume if someone meant Oklahoma they would say so.

I have been to Houston Mississippi before too but when someone says they are going to Houston I think Texas and when they say they are headed to Las Vegas I don't think of New Mexico.

There are some fans of Miami University who might dispute that. They firmly believe the only Miami is in Ohio.

Have you tried Grainger? I have picked up paint from them locally when I was in a pinch. They have stores all over the place.

My fat fingers fail me again. Don't need a ship but do need a couple dozen cans.

We are doing a job for a client doing some geological work. We need to mark around 2,000 spots on the ground for him. Paint only no flags. We brought several cases of paint with us but he wants multiple colors to differentiate the points. Anyway it might be a month before he needs to find these points so I wanted to use good paint.

I currently use Aervoe "Survey" paint and it lasts a long time probably 6 months or more. Regular Aervoe "all purpose" marking paint is crap. The sun fades it away in no time. I used some in south Texas in July and three weeks later it was like we didn't mark a thing. I am assuming the stuff at Home Depot is of similar poor quality.

I would hate to spend a couple weeks marking these points and have them vanish by the time he wants to find them.

Florida Level and Transit is in Fort Lauderdale, not that far north of Miami.

You silly Cow. Of course he meant the Miami that's known around the world, otherwise he would have to name the State. So the real answer to the question "anyone in the miami area" would be "yes, there are millions of people in that area." 😉

The surveying marking paint is a powder base paint which is designed to fade or wash away after a few months. You may be better off with another type of paint. Is this in a field or in grass, those spots are going to be hard to find in a month if they are.

Can you use 60D nails with flagging around the nail head?
