I tried to use the WVDOT VRS today for the first time. I was leery, because I have Verizon on my RTK bridge (and phone), and the VZW web page shows 1x coverage only, as I mentioned in a recent post. I could not get any data connection at all on my cell phone, but the RTK bridge seemed to connect just fine. It would start transmitting, and the DC (Trimble Survey Controller) would present me with a list of 3 base indices. But, I could get no further than that. It would not ever start to initialize. I was thinking maybe the data connection was not sufficient to get all the data I need. I had the source set as CMRx (which I always use on the Keynet VRS). When I got home, it occurred to me to try other sources, I changed to CMRplus and it worked fine (single base index). Anyone know why this happened? I thought CMRx was a better, more efficient mode to use.
I use it often but I have always used CMRplus. I never thought to try anything else because it always worked great. I will have to check it out and see if the other options work.
If I remember correctly, isn't there an option in either the dial profile or the survey style that is usually set for CMRplus? You may have to change it there first to be able to use something different.
