Apples are for consumption and making hard cider. 😉
Why s7 excluded?

Apparently it has a tendency to explode.
And it's costing Samsung a fortune.
The s7 is okay, the Note 7 not so.
I've one of these and find it excellent.
More versatile than dedicated USB stick, accepting cards too.

That's the Note 7, which was pulled from all stores, and bricked by a firmware update for anyone who didn't return them for a refund. The S7 is an excellent phone

What do surveyors use a phone for besides calling the missus?
Find A Control, Theodolite, job photos, etc...
I'm kind of surprised nobody else is using a Kyocera Brigadier. It's a ruggedized phone with a sapphire screen and waterproof. Android OS, for Verizon service. There is no external speaker, so I think it may meet specs for use in proximity to gas vapors. The touch screen is designed to work while wearing gloves.
Umm, http://us.blackberry.com/&apos ;">BlackBerry, you might be surprised, most of their phones are now Android with some BB enhancements. Pricing is competitive.
I am still running a BB Z-10, I think 3-4 years old, I was issued an iPhone 4 for work about the time this was new and side by side the BB did everything better except have a million apps available, but as an actual communications tool it was way better. The new BlackBerry KEYone looks to have good specs and rumored to be released next month for $550. That will probably drop the price on the DETEK60 (the current flagship) to well below $500.
