Back in the day when I worked on massive software installations, Dallas and Austin were the homes of the real gurus in our field. On trips there, our Exec VP would always comment on the license plates on the trucks. "That's no ordinary truck, that's a Texas Truck," he would say. It was a mantra.
Now here's a real Texas Truck, but we'd all better hurry; only a few hundred available:

A Texan was visiting a Maine farmer. The Texas rancher was boasting to his host about the size of his ranch. "I can get into my pickup truck and drive all day and still not reach the boundary of my ranch," he bragged. The Mainer shook his head knowingly, and replied, "Aayuhh, I had a truck like that once."
This could also be the time when the Maine farmer said "You must drive a Ford" but I don't go there in my conversations....

My boss would have to pay me more per km, as I could get to the jobs so much faster. Lol
If you work at it you can get about the same out of a 3.0l Raptor.
Trucks have gone in an odd direction over the last 20 years. More power = better?ÿ
Having a practical vehicle that works off-road is no longer the concern. Never mind the fact that power is not your friend in the dirt... Torque via gearing results in Work. Supercharging and V8s result in broken parts. But that's not what's important these days. Big trucks, big guns, loud voices, and pissing matches.
Sorry, get off my lawn

@john-putnam Just picked up a 3.0L eco-diesel Rubicon and totally agree with you.
Speaking of trucks like that, my son found a headlight trim ring dangling on his Silvrado and found that it came from the factory installed with double-sided tape.
Apparently when using such tape, the success of the adhesion is not dependant on how long you clamp the components together but is dependant on how hard.
Do you like it? I'm looking at one with the special anti-theft device installed.?ÿ
@mightymoe Really like it.?ÿ Had a Rubicon Recon with the 3.6 gas that I just loved, could go anywhere, but I made the mistake of driving the diesel and that was all it took.?ÿ That torque!?ÿ Never ending power at all speeds.
Don't think you can get a diesel with the "special anti-theft device" though.?ÿ totally get it.
