A moment of appreciation

Surveyor's are largely unappreciated in what we do. We all silently appreciate our own work, be it a piece of mechanical or electrical tinkering, an elegant solution to a complex legal or mathematical problem, or simply learning a new method or procedure to make yourself more competitive.

I had a blessed moment of ego boost today, when a potential client contacted us today, and said we were referred by his regular surveyor, Norm Larson. According to the client, Norm had never met us, but has seen our work, and said we do good work.

I was ecstatic. I explained that a reference from Mr. Larson was very high acclaim indeed, and it honestly made my day.

So thank you Mr. Larson, I truly appreciate the information and tinkering you so freely share with all of us, and to everyone else, give yourself a pat on the back. We constantly work on improving our craft, while the people reviewing our work (counties) don't give a damn about surveying, and just want to make sure we complete everything on their checklist.

I am glad to have found myself in a profession surrounded by folks with such attention to detail, and commitment to their science.

Kudos to all of you!

Reminds me of the time I saw a dentist for the first time in the VI. He looked at my teeth and said "someone did some really nice contouring on your fillings".
No one ever appreciates professional work like another professional.

LOL, so, I now know who "summerprophet" is! He had sent me a an address which didn't match any parcel of course, so, with a bit of sleuthing I figured it out. After the second "thence along the old drainage ditch" type call, I knew a local had to do this one, so, I researched the records to see who had done work in the area.

You are welcome for the referral, as I am sure you can deal with those ambiguous localized calls. My guys will miss the road trip though, as we all like those...

Gavin, is that your Emerald City Comicon outfit?
