Don't want to sound jaded or cynical but I always found these 40 under 40 lists to be powered by public relation folks. Not saying that some of these folks are not bright and innovative but some are most likely victims of corporate or academic public relations efforts. Similar to Who's Who list

Ok I'll retract my comment.
I liked the MIT drone guy from left coast who raised $70 mil from Silicon Valley venture capitalists.
My reply to Gavin's email. I had read a lot of the bios. There was a balance between corporate, academic, nonprofit and private enterprises:
Thanks for your reply about the process. It is good to see that there is an energetic group of young professionals in the geospatial field doing exemplary things.
I did retract my statement online.
Great job with your magazine too.
Keep up the good work.
I hope that the future holds the promise of professionals working and aiding each other across all borders. But I see obstacles...

I didn't seem to make the list, but it's probably due to me only being 39 for another 7 months. 🙂
UmmmÛ? What is xyHt ? I have always thought it was some sort of catalog for stuff rather than something informative. Just usually hits the recycle bin upon arrival. 🙂

Very good magazine and informative articles by Gavin and others
Good contributors like Dave Doyle and others too.
FlGa.You're sort of a 'piece of work' as they say...

You could nominate them to "50 over 50."

Again, thank you, I have already received a verbal spanking for the rude remark I posted.

It's the name of the former Professional Surveyor magazine.
They always seemed to me to be less interested in the boundary surveyor, and more excited about newer technology, GIS, etc. Hence, the name change.

Actually I just finished reviewing the 2017 edition online. I was pleasently suprised with the online format. I prefer the electronic version as opposed to the print version. 😎
