Well, as of Day 1, Saturday, January 20, 2018, 0934PST (1534 GMT), the following federal government activities are still working:
BLM Land Records site: https://glorecords.blm.gov/default.aspx#searchTabIndex=0
OPUS (really fast, in fact)
?ÿ
NGS Data explorer is still working....
Work arounds?
USDA/NRCS Soils Maps are still working for now
OPUS is down, more importantly CORS is down, so set your own base if you want static data (I might have a way to get local CORS data), but not through the web.
The state BLM site is working for now, if I remember it went down last time.
?ÿ
I hear it's over
I hear it's over
Actually it's only taking a hiatus until February 8.

You are probably correct.......until then it's a good time to look ahead and develop work arounds.
OPUS out, CORS out, leave a base cranking at the office to do static, find out if RTX is shutdown proof.
Figure out what BLM info you might need, always hard to tell ahead of time, but......
Forge ahead with FEMA jobs to get them in.
