Carlson Survey user.

Recently discovered polyline files as another option to include 3D lines in XML files. Created xml file with *.pln and *.crd files.

However when import xml into a blank dwg (as a test before I send to client) lines or points do not show up. Tried a couple different formats.

Polyline file format [<Carlson>/DTM/Idan/Kof/microStation/MOSS/Peabody/Topcon]?

Ideas?

We use XML files to transfer up and down to ranger DC's every day. Not new to that.

You need to export a polyline file (PLN) of your breaklines and inclue that in your xml export

Yes, that is what we do. Import *.pln and *.crd files into *.xml

Here is a snip of the XML.

xml codes indicate a points list and lines list

IMport to blank dwg and lines do not get drawn. Points drawn. All layers on/thawed

Are you checking both options when importing the xml?  It will write out a PLN file when checked, not just the surface file.  The linework will not import as part of the surface tin.
