When staking out points I use delta's and the update rate on the screen is pretty quick (assuming 5hz or faster) but when I stake to line, the update rate is well over one second.

This becomes a problem when staking grid on foot and pass up a location by 5' and have to backtrack. We had the screen replaced about a month ago ($900 FYI), but I don't see how a screen replacement would affect this.

Any setting within "stake to line" that would affect this?

Had the collector for over 2 years and this problem has just developed.

Check the measurement setting and see if it is set to STD or TRK for line stakeout.

the dealer might have upgraded your access version when doing the screen replacement. There are definately stakeout delays in versions from around 2012.00 to 2013.00
2013.10 fixes a major delay in road stakeout. if you have a job from before the service bring it into TBC and see what version it is compared to what version you are on now. you often cant get to the latest as your software warranty has expired so the dealer brings you up to whatever you can get higher than what you were on
