I've never seen this problem, but one of our TDS Rangers has a problem while typing in data.

Specifically, if a new job is started, the following happens:

1. Asks for New Job name - type it in with no problem
2. Asks if I'd like to use the same projection/datum as the last job - I select Yes, no problem
3. Asks for coordinates of first point - I begin typing the State Plane coords. in the Northing field, and I get about 3 or 4 characters in, and it jumps up to the point number field. If I skip down to the Easting and start typing, I get about 3 or 4 characters in and it jumps to the Elevation field.

I've tried checking the settings in Survey Pro and in Windows Mobile input settings, to no avail.

Any ideas?

I've seen similar 'anomolies'. Is the weather cold and dry?

Sometimes re-calibrating the touch screen fixes it. Sometimes you get to send it to the shop.

It's been a little chilly of late, but this has been in the our storage closet, inside our building for a few days (over the weekend).

I'll probably take it to our local dealer.

may be some sticky numeric key
caused by an worn or damaged keyboard membrane?

Try cleaning around the edge of the touch screen. Sometimes a little bit of dirt or such gets along the edge of the screen. Take the screen protector off, spray a little windex or something on it, and then take a klenix or soft cloth and get a corner and work it around the edge of the screen.

I had heard of that problem before, of something being under the screen. I'll look into that. Chris, it's like brand new, so I can't imagine that it's from something like that.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I had this exact issue, and I ended up having to get the screen replaced. It would work ok in the office where it was cool, and when I got outside in the heat, it would malfunction. Then it eventually got where it would not work inside either.
