My Star*net DAT file generator does not add the HI/HT data for the Height of the instrument and targets, so in one data file, I added them for every instance of every point. It's somewhat tedious, to say the least.
So, the question is, if data lines include identical points (Like 700 and 800 in this example):

Is it necessary to add the HI/HT on every "V" data line?
My intuition tells me "yes", because every data line could be the result of a new and different setup, but thought I'd ask, to make sure.
In this particular instance, I'm getting very weird Elevation differences (41.6670, vs 46.3270), which I'm trouble shooting, and I think it's a result of some screwup on the HI's/HT's. Not sure how adding them affects the outcome.

Yes, it is. Every line.

BTW, I use the "M" and "SS" formats for all my data. Or rather I should say that the converter writes that format for me from my raw data.

Thank you. I've used both of those before. BTW, would you know where/how these Star*net drawings can be produced?

I've seen them all over the manual, but can not find how to produce them anywhere in the program.

I recently started using Star*Net. Since all of my data is mark-to-mark, the Hi's and HT's are all 0.0 m

As far as I know that's a drawing that was created for the manual to illustrate concepts rather than an example of application output.

Those drawings were in the manual when StarNet was DOS program with no graphic display output at all.

If you don't put in anything zero instrument ht and and zero target ht is assumed.
