I'm demoing Carlson civil suite right now. I looked at it installed using the built in intellicad 8.1 first, now I'm trying to look at it running on top of my C3D 2016, but when I installed the Carlson, I lost all of my C3D menus and ribbons. Is there a way to access Civil 3D functions (specifically I wanted to access the "draw" tab of the "home" ribbon of C3D) while Carlson is loaded? Thanks.

You could explore the modification of your normal C3D short-cut icon to have it explicitly load the desired C3D "user profile" (and/or activate this profile via the Settings -- AutoCAD Options command). A summary of how to instruct AutoCAD (and/or C3D) to use a specific profile can be found at this thread.

I hope this information helps.

If you want the PROSPECTOR type it in twice.
Carlson and I very happily ignore most of Civil3d except when it crashes.

I really wish that Carlson software users could still access their other autodesk products without having to customize the software.
Carlson does away with the Autodesk workspaces. I have not been able to access my Raster Design tools.

Good luck, this is not something the folks at Autodesk nor Carlson appear to be interested in addressing.

I've been working with this for several years and but when I upgraded to C3D 2016 I decided to just run Carlson as a separate program using the Intellicad Engine.

Once you load carlson into autocad C3D you are going to lose a lot of C3D items which you won't get back until you restart C3D.

I worked around some of the problems by setting up a Profile of Carlson saved under "Confg">Profiles. I could go from C3D to carlson without any trouble but could never get all the menu items in C3D to reload unless I shut it all down and started over.
