I have a Windows 8inch Tablet running Survey Pro. I need some physical keyboard that fits my hand and connects wirelessly via keyboard to control the tablet. But i need it to be one handed operation since i'm going to be holding the monopod with the other hand
I cant seem to find anything of value.
Everything seem to be landscape oriented. I want something like what the keyboard on blackberry devices used to be, portrait oriented, or some small landscalekeyboard that can latch on the tablet at least
I also got a ti89 calculator, which i like. MAybe there a hack that i can connect it via cable to the tablet, and control it via its keys
So you have anything in mind

This one is for Xbox, but it says it's compatible with Windows 10.?ÿ It works wirelessly, but it might take some figuring to make it work in your application.
I think what you might have to consider most, is what your tablet has for ports.?ÿ ?ÿFor instance, if you can plug in a USB link, for a traditional wireless combo, that would be best. But, if you decided on bluetooth, most tablets have one blue tooth port.?ÿ So you would need a serial cable to run your receiver.?ÿ ?ÿBut, I think the simplest solution would be to buy a smallish keyboard, and rig up another clamping device to it can be mounted on the pole as well.?ÿ Freeing up your other hand for moving branches, carrying a bevy, etc.
I have yet to find a way to clamp a keyboard on the tablet and still be functional
Lets say i get the xbox chatpad from up above, or some similar form factor keyboard, how do i clamp it on the tablet
And BTW, bluetooth on the pc allows for multiple connections. I dont think there will be a problem to connect to gps and keyboard via bluetooth at the same time
I was actually thinking about a Separate clamp.?ÿ Mount the Tablet Higher up, and a Seco clamp at some size, lower down.?ÿ I did a quick search, can't find what i was looking for, but think someone here 3D printed a custom bracket for something similiar.
Did another search.?ÿ Boom.?ÿ Someone made one.

Most devices these days are much bigger than the "candy-bar" phones of yesteryear, and you need both hands to operate. I've spent many hours thinking about separate keyboards for the DC and tablets, and bought a few, but I think for fieldwork, concluded that ruggedness of the keyboard was the main issue.

Wow thats crazy. This looks like a control center. I had hoped of a more compact solution that didnt require all these mounts and tech. But in times of uncertainty such as this one, i may end up with something like this on the end

Can you link some of those keybaords and why exactly they didnt work for you. So what was your final solution that you are now working with and feel satisfied
I found this quick, looks kinda interesting

That would take some getting used-to, but for data collection application looks like it could be pretty slick.

Yeah I agree. Never saw one before searching for the post. Seems like it could be super handy for data collection apps. Its not like anyone is trying to type novels on their data collector haha
