Is there an easy way, besides doing a screen shot and import it as a raster file, to import a pdf file into a dwg ?
I'm using Carlson Survey 2008, and i'd like to insert copies of assessor's maps into the drawing.
thanks,
Dtp

I haven't had to do it, and I don't know if you'd call it "easy"...
But you could use "PDF To JPG Converter" it's free and you can change the dpi to like 400, which is MORE than enough (I think) to make a clear image, and then insert the .png or .jpg file into your maps. *edit* you would then enter it as a raster file.
the "PDF To JPG Converter" is a little wonky at first, but you can get it down. That's the program I used on facebook to put my "show plats" on my biz page.
I hope this helps...

I usually only insert tiff or jpeg files into my drawings. I do it as a raster image. I know there is a downloadable file to change a tiff to a pdf. I would only imagine that could be reversed, but I could be wrong. If you do find out how, I would like to know as well. I am still using Carlson Survey 2006.
You should be able to open the pdf then do a save as. Save the file as a .tiff and insert it as an image into the drawing. At least that's how I do it. You can even save it in the same place as the pdf with the same file name and just a new extension to keep things in order.
Wendell posted this http://www.pdfzilla.com/ before. It will turn a PDF into an image file.

I don't think that there is a way to place a PDF directly into any cad drawing in it's native PDF format. You have to make a raster image if you want to preserve the PDF styled image, or use a PDF to DWG converter like Jim Frame linked if preserving the PDF style is not important.
Irfanview is a wonderful free program that will open pdfs (and other files) and save them to almost any format you want.
I open the PDF file with Adobe Reader, copy the file to the clipboard, open Paint, and paste into Paint, and then save as a image file.
Quick, painless, and the tools are free.

As far as importing into "any" cad drawing, it is quite easy with Autocad 2011 or 2012. In Autocad, get into the xref command. Use the pull-down to select between whether you want to import a drawing, and image, or a pdf. Works slick. Another great thing is that the white space gets turned transparent, so it works well overlaying other features.
I know this does not help the OP, but hopefully it helps others.

You can also do pdfattach, I believe or attachpdf. I am not at my computer at this time. But that will bring in a PDF.
Ifranview is also handy for converting jp2 imaged to the old jpg format.
Many of the new aerials are now jp2 and not compatible with many older drafting programs.

How well does that program work? Do you use it?
