I use a *.ctb file to make my drawings look the way I want them to . . .?ÿ
(I should start by saying my CAD background is marginal; I know enough to make my 1 dimensional Certificates of Survey look good)
Every once in a while I go to print a drawing I just prepared, and it appears that it doesn't use the CTB file to control the printer. . .?ÿ dealing with one right now.
I use line colors to control weight and width of the lines on the printed drawing; and its acting like it's using the monochrome ctb instead of mine . . .?ÿ
I imported another drawing into this one while I was preparing it, and there were some blocks.?ÿ When I noticed the problem, I deleted the blocks, then purged and audited the drawing to no avail.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to solve this?
Chuck
Sounds like you don't have your cbt as the default option. If you weren't using the normal template set up when starting a drawing, it might be defaulting to the monochrome cbt.
I have the correct .ctb chosen in the dropdown at the upper right of the PLOT menu . . . is there another place I choose it as the default?
If I'm not misunderstanding, your drawings are setup to use ctbs not stbs. That's a start.
If you're plotting from paperspace, use File/Plot/Page Setup Manager to modify the settings for that page. You'll be able to pick the plotter, border, scale, and ctb for that page. Once done, every time you plot that page, everything will plot correctly, and using your ctb.
If it's in modelspace, just click Plot, and under the top option, Name, click <Previous plot> , and it will use the settings from the last time.
But if you're saying that you choose the correct ctb, and it's not using that to plot for some reason, I don't really know what the problem is, then
I THINK I am plotting from Model Space . . . my menus are a little different than what you describe.
However, when I click PLOT, then PRINT, I get the PLOT Menu . . . I choose my CTB file the first time, and it remembers it from then on. Every once in a great while, I have this trouble - and I think it may be due to my having inserted another drawing for reference.
Honestly, I plotted the job, and darkened the lines I needed with a black pen. Still would like to know the solution though . . .
The plot settings from Model space can be different than Paper space unless you preset your settings.. Inserting another drawing into your active drawing will not affect the plot settings.
This is not directly related to the OP, but I hope this is useful and helpful.
I have a dwt drawing template file that opens a dwg file with all (most) of the settings (including ctb, maybe?) that I like every time I launch the program.
