Trying to merge a range of points into a new drawing from an old one. I haven't used this routine much, but in Coord File Utils, I go to merge crd. Merge Points Manager comes up, and it seems to only merge ALL points instead of the range I put in the box. Is there a step I'm missing here?

I couldn't replicate the behavior with the Carlson 2010 product I have installed to my computer. As an example, here is the range I tested:

When my Merge Points Manager dialog box came up, only the points specified by my range were listed. I'd suggest the following:

  • Click Help -- About Carlson Survey and note the Build Date of the software you have installed. Compare this with the File Date shown at the Carlson 2007 software download page. If your build date is significantly older than the file date on the Download page, download and install either the patch or full version to see if the problem has been corrected with the latest build of the software.
  • If the problem persists, I'd suggest calling the Carlson Technical Support Staff. They should be able to diagnose the source of the problem and get you back on track.
  • Feel free to send me your Source coordinate file, your Target coordinate file and the range of points you are looking to merge and I'll see if I can spot the anomaly and get you a solution. lnelsonATcarlsonswDOTcom if you'd like to send the files.
