If you are on the fence about installing version 5.0 of magnet DO NOT DO IT.?ÿ They really messed some things up with this update. The big one that I have found at this point is that you can't translate and rotate your points. The only work around is to start a new job. If you use magnet please call your dealer and let them know of any problems you find.?ÿ

Anything other than that? It crashed on me while trying to render a background drawing but I haven't been able to reproduce the problem.?ÿ

Thanks for the tip, though we ran out of maintenance recently and are stuck with 4.3.3 anyway. Interestingly, recently our topcon rep advised not to ever upgrade to a new .0 version, until they iron out the bugs.?ÿ

Arctan(x) The other problems i have run into happens when entering descriptions certain keys are grayed out and you cant use them such as / and makes it a little to enter in the description for a 1/2" rebar etc.?ÿ

Works fine for me. v5.0 actually fixed a few problems I had with 4.3.3.

The translation is not a problem for me. Actually, think it works as designed. If you collect raw data with RTK or EDM, then translate it, what happens if you make a change the raw data? I prefer?ÿto export to a coordinate file and perform the translation in a file without?ÿRAW data.

Works great for what I do (small scale cadastral). You tend to hear only the bad sides of software here, as folks tend to post only when they have a problem.

(Can't remember the last post "my software totally aced it today")!

As Exhibit A I point out that it took just under 7 hours (in the middle of a work day) for someone to contradict my statement. And that person is a Magnet Trainer. I'm glad it is working for you.?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ

No worries, Iƒ??m not sure what you meant by a ƒ??magnet trainerƒ? but I am not too fussed. It certainly doesnƒ??t apply to me. I just bang pegs in down south and leave the politics to those more inclined.?ÿ

And yes, magnet works well for me.

Cheers!?ÿ

Haha, well we donƒ??t have Javadƒ??s products down here in Oz to my knowledge, but I do take your point. Nateƒ??s profile pic kinda sums it up. ?
