Hey Guys,

Is there a command in Civil 3D for to click a boundary and have it write the legal for you.

In Terramodel I have a legal writer command that I customized a little to write legals the way I write them. After it generates the legal I just have to tweak it a little and add section info, calls etc.

Thanks in advance.

Charlie

There is, it is a part of the "Parcels" routine and is under the "Reports" tab of the Taskpane. I have never personally used it as I could never figure out how to modify the basic (HTML) form of the description. Instead I purchased a program from Budcad.com that I find very easy to use and at a fair price.

Robert hit it pretty close. in previous versions of the software you could generate various reports in the landxml writer. This is part of civil 3d and can be used to generate reports for a completed parcel. Problem I've had is the TEMPLATES for these reports are precanned with the software and are html based with the only editing capability outside of the software in an html editor.

Without sitting infront of my machine looking at it step by step I can't remember the sequence to use it. I have used it before though to get the math, then i do a lot of global find and replace commands to tweak the language the way I like It, then add my controlling calls on various lines or points accordingly.

Create parcel first.
Under toolbox, go to parcel, general legal description for parcels, right click, execute. Make edits, copy html to your cad.
