i have one station running intellicad and i installed it on my machine with the hope of switching over.
i have custom shapes and custom linetypes with those custom shapes that work just fine in Acad.

i have issues loading the shape file into intellicad. i can get 3 of the special linetypes to work on my machine and none to work on the other.

i don't mind recoding the shapefile if i must, but i need some guidance. i don't mind recoding the linetype file either.

hopefully they will still work in Acad...

thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

To transfer custom linetypes from another software I found a lisp routine with a web search that showed me where the ".lin" file was on an autocad machine. Open with notepad and it shows all linetypes including custom linetypes. Then I used it to find the .lin on the intellicad machine. Cut/Paste custom linetypes into the file your intellicad machine. Then they show up in your list of line types. Probably an easier way, but it was faster than entering a custom linetype manually.

Please feel free to send me your shape files and I'll work toward having them examined by the ITC programming team.

To my knowledge there is no way to make a shape file in intellicad: you will still have to use ACAD to make them and then move them into the intellicad support folders.

What I did was to copying my shape files into the Fonts folder under the Support folder in intellicad, then I renamed my acad line type file (*.lin) and placed/ copied it under the Support folder with the other line type files. You could also just modify the existing intellicad*. lin file. So far so good but I have only tested this on a few line types with simply shape files.
