Dan, watch out for 64-bit vs. 32-bit versions. I had some old programs that wouldn't run on 64-bit Windows 7, but they run fine on 32-bit. It's probably hard to find a new computer with 32-bit Windows, but you can get it on e-bay and install it.

Most, if not all 32 bit programs will run fine on a 64 bit machine; the problem is most likely to be that some older 32 bit software uses a 16bit installer.

I have an old Intel (R) Core (TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @2.8 GHz, 8 Gb Ram, Dell Precision 64 bit system with 3 Hard drives. In its day, it was one of the better systems. I think I will update to Windows 10 tonight and see how it goes.
Does [REDACTED] do ortho rectification?
My understanding is that GM will take a picture file that has been stiched together. GM has a program that will allow you to GEO rectify it for 3d and allow you to use in in other applications. I have shifted my interest towards DroneMapper. It allows you a 30 day trial just like GM.
[REDACTED] will georeference with Point to point, but not a rectification from camera information. (Position, focal length, direction) There are tools for blending and feathering along with tools for draping over 3d.
I am in the process of georeferencing to the 1938 usgs aerials with the goal of making a large blended image to tile up.

I use TDS Foresight DXM, Topcon Tools, and a few other programs on Windows 10 without issue. I know some other guys on the forum have had an issue with printer/plotter drivers with Windows 10, but all in all, it as been a fairly painless transition for me.
