For whatever reason, my F2 button now functions as "Zoom Extents". I don't know how that happened, but I'd like to get it back to function as the open Text Window key.
I've Googled it with no useable results. It's been so long since I changed any function keys. Any ideas?
Seems to me that would be buried in the options menu, perhaps on the same tab as the mouse options
TRY
Options -> User Preferences, make sure the Windows standard accelerator keys are enabled under Windows Standard Behavior.
and of course with all things in windows try a reboot, it less now than in the "old days", but sometimes still works.

How antiquated is that?
You forgot Alt-Tab: switch windows when boss comes by.

Do you have an F Lock button on your keyboard?
I had the same type of problem with no viable solution except for the simplest one.
Toggling the little F Lock Key on my New Microsoft Keyboard that I never realized existed.
That little bugger caused me weeks of frustration trying to figure out how to fix, what I thought was a corruption of my "cui" file. Turns out once I toggled that back on my F keys returned to their intended autocad shortcut functionality.
If that's not it and its a true change to your cui, then I may have some literature on a solution somewhere.
